ANNEX 2 PROJECT FOR THERAPEUTIC IMPACT AND SOCIAL INTEGRATION OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS FROM SOCIAL AND MEDICAL HEALTH CENTERS BY MEANS OF THEATRE AND SCREEN ART
	Objective: Organizing free film-shows, theatre, opera and other performances for needy individuals, adults and neglected children, as well as moppet shows on the grounds of hospitals for children with permanent medical problems, chronic diseases, etc. Necessity: Visiting film-shows and theatre performances is a form of the modern social life and necessity for each member of the society. For financial reasons children from social centers, needy individuals and neglected old people quite rarely visit theatres and cinemas. This in fact deepens their feelings of social isolation. Particularly affected in this aspect are the children from the social centers who are additionally deprived of the environment of their coevals. Moppet show performances in health centers for mentally deficient children not only meet their natural necessities of positive emotional experiences, but is successfully used by physicians in the form of therapy which promotes development of psychological processes like thinking, attention, memory, etc. Target groups: - children from social health centers; - children from medical centers who suffer chronic diseases and permanent health problems; - mentally deficient children; - neglected adults; - needy people; Core activities: - organizing of free film-shows for children and needy adults from social and health centers; - production and performing of moppet shows on the grounds of health centers for mentally deficient children, for permanently hospitalized or needy children, for orphans, etc.; - organizing of free visits to theatre, opera and operetta performances, concerts, etc. for needy or neglected adults. Useful effects: Accomplishment of the project will generate at least three positive effects as follows: 1. Social integration effect: - helps children and adults belonging to these social categories to overcome their feelings of social isolation; - stimulates their social integrity; 2. Educational effect: - promotes formation of aesthetic style and moral values of the audience 3. Therapeutic effect: - helps formation and stabilization of various psychological processes in children with mental disturbances. Partnership: This project is accomplished by Concept for Theatre Foundation and "Sofia Film" A.S., Sofia Town Municipality, Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Union of Actors in Bulgaria, the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts "Krastyo Sarafov", the Sofia Opera and all Sofia city theatres are aiding the realization of the project.
