I. Objective: - to popularize and apply more
advanced methods in the management of the theatre process; - to
initiate and promote generating and accomplishment of new ideas in theatre
art.
II. Means: - realization of the
activities in three areas: education, consultancy and production and
distribution of theatre products (performances, forums, events); -
cooperation with various national theatre organizations and structures;
establishment of international contacts: for sponsoring and exchange of
creative and managerial ideas
III. Main
activities:
1. Educational activity: organization of
seminars and discussions on the theory, practice and management of the
theatre. The target is creation and development of theatre makers and
managers. This activity is oriented towards enrichment of knowledge and
acquisition of skills by students and professionals using the existing
techniques and methodology in theatre management. It affords opportunities
for theatre managers to exchange ideas, share practical issues and enrich
their knowledge.
This activity will be effected through: -
organizing of meetings and discussions for evaluation and assessment of
current changes in theatre and sharing practical experiences; -
organizing of workshops for candidates to practice or for acquiring
knowledge about managerial activities in theatre areas.
2.
Consultancy activity: on issues related to different aspects of
theatre management like protection of author's rights, creative, legal and
financial interests of individual theatre makers or companies. This
necessity is determined by the lack of experience, knowledge and skills
among independent authors for work and dealing in free market environment.
This activity will be effected by a team of consultants and
managers, appointed by the Board of Directors of the Concept for Theatre
Foundation, who will: - provide complementary consultations; -
work out text of contracts for exercising the copyright and its relevant
(executive) rights; - hold negotiations for conclusion of business
contracts; - follow strict observation of the contracts; - help in
solving of issues derived from contracts already signed with or without
Center's intermediation;
3. Production and distribution of
theatre performances: the basic purpose of the activity is to
promote the accomplishment of projects of young theatre artists offering
them professional consultancy, practical, legal and sponsorship aid.
Concept for Theatre Foundation will support
projects for theatre productions as follows: 1. Presented by
young authors (up to 35 with less than 5 years work experience in
professional theatres). 2. Which are inline with the modern ideas,
methods, forms and means of expression 3. Which correspond to the
modern means of perception 4. Which form aesthetic taste among the young
generation.
The Foundation will not consider
projects which are: 1. Ill-founded. 2. Art for art's
sake. 3. Non-communicative.
The Foundation will consider just
initiatives for future performances worked out to the level of a "project"
and will not interfere in the realization of projects for theatre
performances, the execution of which has already begun.
The
theatre production and distribution activity will be accomplished by:
1. Conclusion of contracts with the creative team of the future
performance; 2. Provision of suitable space for realization of the
performance and conclusion of relevant contract; 3. Procurement of
funds; 4. Elaboration of advertising strategy; preparing of ad stuff
and its distribution; 5. Utilization of the network, set up by the
Foundation, for touring of the performance around the country; 6.
Preparing of a press-release for the performance to be presented at
international theatre forums.

Theatre Management Center has been granted a funding by the "Soros" Arts
